no shoes in the rain; CC verse
Never mind that their mission has gone to hell no thanks to the freak storm that scattered pretty much everything, including their cargo and entourage. It's a miracle both of them survived, although not without almost drowning and Hallelujah growling through the whole ordeal. Not that Tieria blames him, really. He's pretty pissed himself.
It's a good thing he wore his boots and not the glass slippers because Tieria is sure they'll never survive the current. The state of his muds soaked and dirt spoiled boots that lay discarded on the cave floor is proof enough.
Hugging himself, he sighs, annoyed with their situation while the rain continue pouring outside. ] When is this damn rain going to stop?
no subject
This is screwed up.
[ Hallelujah does not like to lose, but even he knows a battle against the elements is pretty fucking fruitless. At least when the weather got shitty back home they had the Gundam containers or just, you know, going back to space to fall on. Here, lucky them, it's not so simple. Hallelujah looks towards the mouth of the cave with an expression that can only be called neutral. For him, anyway. He's peeled off his boots and the more sodden parts of his uniform and dumped them in a heap by his side, but even if they had magic, getting a fire started isn't gonna happen. Not with the icy wind and rain ripping through by the light of lightning.
Really, the fact that he's actually sort of quiet, mind hurtling through their options, is more telling than anything. Hallelujah is taking this seriously, which means he thinks they're actually in danger here. Even so, he huffs a quiet noise, a glimmer of a grin turning at the corners of his mouth as he looks over his shoulder. ]
Hey, princess. How's your pride feel?
no subject
Pride? Even you don't have time for it now.
[ What's the worth of pride in the face of survival? Zero. That's right. They're Celestial Beings, there's no pride in dying, only when you survived. A death body accomplishes nothing, especially if you die in foreign planet. Although death means something else for an Innovade, Tieria has no intention of throwing it away for something like pride. Revenge, maybe. Pride, no. Neil would be disappointed in him. What kind of report could he bring Neil if he died without accomplishing anything?
Hallelujah being quiet however, is a rarity. Tieria wonders what's going on in his mind right now. Tieria would try to start a fire but no fire would hold in this temperature, much less in the presence of wind this powerful that it's presence could reach this deep into the cave. Casting a fire spell would just waste his abysmally low mana. ]
You have something in mind? [ He asks, peeling off the jacket that is now proving to be much more of a bone chilling factor than a heat retainer now. ]
no subject
Yeah. [ And that's it, for a moment. There are only so many options. Hallelujah's mind is not a great place, but it is an effective one. As soon as he realized what the stakes were and what he had left to gamble with, he'd gone on the offense. ] Getting biblical wasn't exactly on my mind, but since the weather didn't get the memo...
[ Had Allelujah been awake, he would have demanded to be praised for his cutting wit. ]
Either way, all your fire isn't going to amount to shit without mana.
no subject
Whatever his idea is, Tieria is open to suggestion. It beats freezing to death by a few galaxies, really. ]
So? Out with it. [ This dilly dallying is so unlike him that Tieria is beginning to think that maybe, maybe it might be a really bad idea after all. It better not involves getting back out in that torrent of rain... ]
no subject
You know, for a walking supercomputer, you sure are one dense bastard sometimes.
[ It's enough to get him approaching. By the virtue of being what they are, they're more durable and used to unfavorable conditions than normal humans. And still, he's bitter fucking cold, and he's about had it. Patience has never been his strong suit. That's why he just up and reaches for his partner, chucking his chin up with the edges of his knuckles. That single point of contact sparks a mana exchange, a weak trickle of the energy they need. ]
Get it?
no subject
[ If he's not fighting cold right now, he would have smack the running mouth so fast. It's one thing tolerating his usual jest but Tieria has never been one who allows such blatant personal jab.
What Hallelujah did, however, certainly piques his interest. This partner of his who abhors mana exchange is willingly initiating it? The only reason Tieria hasn't sat close to him even when he's in dire needs of mana is simple - to respect Hallelujah's personal space. But to think that even Hallelujah would voluntarily touch him is both surprising and a reality check to him. Their condition is certainly bad, there's no question to it. Even Tieria understands that they're pretty much sitting ducks right now.
Still, he raises a curious brow and looks directly at the Meister, wondering what he's up to. ]
You're initiating? [ Mana exchange, that's it. The sparks of mana transferring between them certainly helps a little but Tieria is much more interested in what's going on his partner's mind now. ]
no subject
[ Same as he does. Hallelujah's touch moves, to delicate jawbone, the pulsing artery hidden beneath it. The longer the contact, the more mana they share. He dislikes it. A backflow of energy that isn't his. Intruding. But it makes him powerful, powerful enough to keep them from the danger of the situation. It's so ironic he could laugh, and he almost looks like he wants to. A contradiction.
Just like him. ]
no subject
Physical contact... [ Not that Tieria likes it anymore than Hallelujah does but he tolerates it much better. But even so, this touch, the way Hallelujah traces his jawline is so foreign and strange that it has Tieria slightly confused.
Is he hesitating?
But instead of allowing Hallelujah time to slowly moves in, Tieria reaches out to pull Hallelujah close, grabbing him by the neck to pull him into an embrace. ]
It's just a hug. We'll get through this. We'll live.
no subject
Like now.
Hallelujah's whole demeanor spikes when he's touched, hackles raised. Lucky him, Tieria isn't much shorter, so he doesn't have to bow to get the full effect of the mana that suddenly courses through him. Tieria's never changes, whether it's him or Allelujah. He huffs a tch into the juncture of his partner's neck. ]
Just like I thought.
no subject
You're strong, more so than anyone I've known. That ability to decapitate enemies with just your bare hands and this, this will to live, it's unprecedented.
[ Ruffling his wet hair a little, Tieria lets out a small chuckle before continuing. ]
It won't take too long. [ To be honest, they'll probably need at least half and hour to maybe even an hour to fully replenish all the mana they lost, if Hallelujah let them. He wouldn't be surprise if his partner decides otherwise, nor will he blame him. Even so, the trickling mana is beginning to make both of them feel much better than they were. ]
no subject
Huh. I had no idea you thought so highly of me. [ He shifts. ] Is it because of this?
[ Reaching aside, he snags Tieria's wrist, holding it. Mana pushes through the second point of contract, drenching downwards. ]
What if I say I'm not very patient?
no subject
He's about to tell Hallelujah to shut up when his hand ends up in Hallelujah's instead. ]
You can shut up and deal with it unless you want to end up shivering until that storm stops.
[ It doesn't even occurs to him that Hallelujah might have something else in mind. ]
no subject
No, no. It's exactly like you said.
[ Hallelujah uses his grip on Tieria to tug him forward, bodies flush. He goes nose to nose with him, sporting a cheeky grin. Never let it be said he doesn't like to play with his food a little. ]
I have no intention of dying in such a shitty way.
no subject
I know that already. Let go of me!
[ This is completely unnecessary, as he pushes Hallelujah's face away from him. ]
no subject
[ Tieria pushes him away, but Hallelujah is persistent in forcing him to look forward, to focus on him. His grip switches, forgoing his wrist in favor of higher up on his arm, giving him less room to struggle when he yanks him back. The momentum's good. In his favor, he calculates, for just a second. Hallelujah uses it to duck in against his partner and capture his mouth in a kiss.
Compared to the effect of Tieria's earlier hug, the mana that flourishes from the sudden contact is leagues stronger. Faster, and warmer, like that firepower he's so fond of. Involuntarily, he sharply breathes it in.
Whatever Tieria feels about the uninvited action of it, what it does, the burn it ignites is real. ]
no subject

He doesn't like ANY part of this, his hair being yanked at, Hallelujah kissing him, their body being all too close, everything about this whole situation is not okay! The sudden surge of mana between them certainly doesn't help as he groans his objection into the kiss.
Tieria wants to get away, to push Hallelujah off him but he's being held in a way that makes it impossible. ] --Mhhmmm!!
no subject
But as immortal as Hallelujah likes to fancy himself, even he needs to breathe. He's also sure if he keeps at it without permission, Tieria will think twice on the whole not-making-him-infertile thing.
So, Hallelujah breaks the kiss, but not without leaving the impression of a cheeky smile in its wake. ]
That's much better! [ His tongue rakes across his bottom lip. Not gonna lie though, he already misses the warmth in comparison to the wind still howling through their hideout. Still, he's an asshole, but he only takes what's necessary. Hallelujah's hands have risen in a lazy sort of ceasefire. ] But if you keep wanting to take the inefficient way out, then I can't stop you.
no subject
When he does get over it, somewhat, maybe, the mana surge pulsing through them is almost overwhelming and hot. Intense, if he has to put a word to it. The difference of what a kiss and a hug restore, the speed of the mana regeneration is impressive. Logically, it makes sense but for someone like him, who prefers his personal space and has no need for intimacy, this completely escapes him. Until now, that's it. Or what was now, with Hallelujah bolting off him as quick as he got on top. Jerk.
That cheeky smile though... ]
Hallelujah Haptism! [ If he wasn't annoyed enough to yell earlier, he is after seeing how pretentious his partner is being, what's with the thoroughly fake surrender and all. ] You're not sorry at all! Don't pretend to be!
[ Catching his breath, however, he shivers from the sudden lack of warmth and immediately hugs himself, cursing internally at the wind. It doesn't feel as bad earlier since they have been more or less gotten used to the cold for hours but the spike of heat from the mana link changes it. He certainly feels the drop of temperature worse now. ] ...Get back here. It's freaking cold.
no subject
[ Selfless isn't a word that can be used to describe Hallelujah, even on the best day of his life. But he can work in a team. He can be loyal. A mutually beneficial decision isn't outside of the realm of how far he's willing to go, in a shit situation. (Which this absolutely is, by the way.) And yet, as he listens to Tieria admonish him, knowing he had that coming, if not something a little worse...
...to hear him invite him back over causes him to actually look surprised for a moment. Before bursting into laughter. ]
Oh? What's this?
[ As always, Hallelujah does exactly what his partner asks of him. He approaches again, keeping his back to the wind. In that respect, he makes a pretty handsome shield, if he does say so himself. A grin slithers across his face, dark and nonchalant. What will Tieria do if he obeys, he wonders. ]
Finally seeing things my way?
no subject
Look. I'm freezing and so is you. If I die, you can kiss the floor of this cave and hope it restores your mana.
[ Tieria doesn't like kissing. It's intrusive, weird and possibly unhygienic but if it's between restoring mana as quickly as possible so they both live and dying, you know which choice he will pick. Without doubt. ]
Hurry up!
no subject
[ Hallelujah will be the first to acknowledge it, too. There's a reason why he's taking the brunt of the wind, why he can stand there and be a shit despite the cold having long since taken root in all his limbs. If Hallelujah doesn't want to die, he has to make sure Tieria won't, either. A well-guarded secret... or perhaps not so much, if you know how to wield him. His partner does, for the most part. Though he prides himself on not being as predictable as others might think, for all his bark.
His hands rise again, this time to either side of Tieria's jaw. To make sure he's not going to back down. The contrast between them is visually stark, as always, despite his hands and Tieria's face both being cold. Hallelujah leans in, taking great amusement in the fact that his mouth is probably the only legitimately warm place on him. In more ways than one. ]
So here's where I can say as you wish, and mean it.
[ Because he can't resist the last word, even as he's pressing forward with another kiss. ]
no subject
Cold. Freezing cold. Like himself. Tieria shivers involuntarily at the touch, mana once again coursing through them, providing stark contrast against their otherwise freezing bodies.
And again, Tieria just rolls his eyes at the incredible last word Hallelujah mutters, right before they kiss again. Hallelujah just couldn't resist it, and most of the time, Tieria simply let him have it. It's easier than keep coming up with more argument and frankly? It's something that he doesn't actually mind indulging his partner, not that he's ever going to tell him that.
This time, he kisses back, following Hallelujah's lead even if he's unsure and honestly has no idea what he's doing. It's weird, although not in the bad way but Tieria couldn't really find words to describe this experience. Instinctively, he pulls Hallelujah closer, wanting more of that warmth their mana link is providing. ]
