On a school night, no less!
So here it has come to be that Cure Rhythm faces down Eas. In the dark. Shivering. Dressed like the most fancy of ice cream cones. ]
Th-th-that's right! [ ...okay, so she'd intended that to come out a little more forcefully, but the teeth-chattering has already begun. She huffs, watching her breath cloud. ] No thanks to you! C-Couldn't you have chosen s-s-something a little more, ooh, I don't k-know, convenient?!
[ Sheesh. ]
no subject
The dramatic pose doesn't last very long, she feels one arm wrap around her waist in an attempt to keep herself warm. The jacket of her outfit did very little to fend off the cold. She blamed the lack of sleeves for this, but also Harper for no reason in particular.]
Th-this is perfectly convenient!
Win or lose, y-y-you'll still freeze!
[Sure. It might work the other way around, but she wasn't going to worry about details.]
P-p-pre-prepare yourself!
[And she's going to make a charge at Rhythm, though it's nowhere near as fast as she'd normally go. Her arm raising shakily to throw a punch at the frilly skirted magical girl.]
no subject
Really? You know, if I freeze, you're just going to go right along w — ah!
[ As Alexandra goes for the gold, Harper decides she'd better just get to preparing herself for this really unenthusiastic-looking attack. Knowing the motions, she has plenty of time through her chittering and chattering to scuff her heel back to try and brace herself.
Except scuffing her heel doesn't work when the floor is frozen over. ]
Whoop!
[ She'd intended to raise her arms to block, and what actually happens his that her foot slips on the ice, sending her into a wide-eyed, undignified flail. ]

[Alexandra manages to pick up a bit of momentum as she gets closer to Harper. warming herself up slightly from actually getting up and doing something. It's short lived though as Harper's slip and flail is the last thing she had expected. She tries to grind to a halt but she continues to slide along the icy sleek floor right into the brightly dressed magical girl.
Instead of an exhausted and halfhearted punch, she accidentally crashes into Harper and sends them toppling over onto the ground in a mess of frills and black leather.
She let's out a groan.
This was not her day.]
I'm blaming you for that.

[ With an indignant huff, she tries to keep her palms stable on the floor to push up, but it's futile when her nails scrape on ice, causing her slip and faceplant right back into the other girl. Everything about her seems to puff outwards in anger. Her hair, her wealth of ruffles. Like a cat. A very ornery, very sparkly cat currently trapped by all of Alexandra's gangly limbs. (Shut up Harper, you're just as noodly.) ]
That's right. [ Muffled, but as threatening as she can manage. ] This is your fault!
no subject
Still despite the current situation, she was starting to feel a bit warmer than she had a few moments ago.]
My fault? Don't blame me because you don't know how to dodge, cupcake!
no subject
[ YEAH. YEAH. TAKE THAT. ]
Well, I've got some news for you —
[ News which is cut short by her wobbling on her arms and attempting to not just slip and end up back where she started. ]
no subject
It was!
[Simple fact. Alexandra didn't do anything half assed. (Or so she says.)
You wouldn't know a good punch if it hit you in the f-
[Then she saw Harper start to wobble. It was time to bail out before this girl fell on top of her. She reaches up to try and push the girl off of her but while trying to raise her arm she bangs it against one of Harper's shaking arms.]
no subject
As if! Hit me in the face first, and then we'll tal - ah?
[ Despite the fact that she just wants to get out of this predicament, she's not about to just stand... sit... wobble there... and be insulted! Granted, that insult is likewise interrupted by the sudden cut at her arm, because one good turn deserves another, and life just doesn't plan on cutting her any slack when it comes to defeating evil. Or floundering there with it, whichever.
Squeaking, her palm skids beneath the force, sending her into a resounding faceplant. Her hair fans, ruffles tossed every which way. More importantly, she's nearly cheek to cheek with Alexandra, which is terrible, for one, and...
...surprisingly warm, also. Teeth chattering, she doesn't actually make to move just yet. ]
I do hope you're proud of this accomplishment.

[Her taunt is cut off by light grunt as Harper collapses on to her again. Alexandra grit her teeth from beneath the mess of limbs, hair and ruffles she found herself in. It was infuriating how the world conspired against her actually succeeding, if she weren't so cold she'd scream. ...That and if Harper wasn't around, she wouldn't allow herself to show weakness in front of enemy.
She shook her head to shake that train of thought off and felt some of Harper's locks brush against her cheek. Normally she might have complained about how annoying that felt but it was oddly pleasant. Alexandra was suddenly much more aware of just how close the two of them were and how warm Harper happened to be at the moment.
The warmth, that's what she wanted right now. Without putting much thought into it Alexandra's arms wrapped around Harper's waist and shoulders to draw her in closer.]
...I can think of ways to improve it.
no subject
The evil embrace, that is.
(Okay, so maybe she's more imaginative than pragmatic sometimes, but circumstance has everything to do with it, gosh.) ]
Wh-wh-what do you mean, improve?! [ She tries to whip up, but fails. ] I think you are greatly misusing that term, here!
no subject
She can feel a faint smirk on her lips when she sees how red Harper's face has gotten.]
I am not. This whole situation would be worlds better if you'd put a sock in it. Unfortunately, I'm fresh out of spare socks.
no subject
Are too! [ Mature. ] We wouldn't even be in this lousy, no good, ridiculous situation if you could just keep a lid on your tendencies...
[ FOR EVIL. Her teeth, however, have stopped chattering. ]
So, why don't we just raincheck this whole thing, you call off this embarrassing icecapade, and I'll save you a walloping for next time?
[ If not, she is completely
willing
to
keep
talking. ]
